Footnote Works AI agency

Services and pricing

Everything we make, with the price next to it.

Each one closes a specific leak: calls nobody answers, enquiries that go cold, hours nobody billed, buyers who leave before the page loads. Five products in three sizes each, three monthly plans, and two ways to start that cost nothing. Almost no agency publishes any of this, which is exactly why a firm assumes we are out of reach and never asks.

The five things we make

Three sizes each, with what moves the price stated openly. Fixed scope, fixed price, and you own what we build.

BuildMost start here

Website

Turn more of the traffic you already have into enquiries you can bill.

$3,000 to $18,000

two to eight weeks

  • Three sizes, priced by how big the job actually is rather than by a page count that turns into an argument later
  • A new site or a website redesign: if what you have is worth keeping we will say so, and rebuilding around good content is cheaper than starting over
  • Fully server-rendered, so every page is real HTML on the first request. That is what makes it fast for a buyer on a phone and readable by the assistants: a page assembled in the browser is close to blank to both
  • The machine-readability layer built in, not bolted on: crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, dynamic sitemap and instant indexation. It is what decides whether ChatGPT names you when a buyer asks who to call
  • Genuinely fast, which is a conversion argument rather than a technical one: this site ships about three kilobytes of JavaScript and yours is built the same way
  • Deployed and hosted by us: infrastructure, SSL, monitoring and backups. Nobody on your side spends an afternoon on it, and there is no invoice from a second supplier
  • Your code, your accounts. Nothing is licensed back to you and there is no platform fee

Three sizes

  • Small

    $3,000 to $7,500

    usually two to three weeks

Compact and sharp. Everything a firm needs to look like the serious one in its market, load instantly, and be readable by the assistants. Nothing padded, and nothing missing.

  • Mediummost firms

    $7,500 to $18,000

    usually four to eight weeks

The full system, with room to grow into. A content engine your team can actually use, and the client-facing paths that turn a visit into a booking rather than an email you have to answer.

  • Large

    from $18,000

quoted after a paid scoping week

Ambitious or genuinely complex. Deep integrations, an application rather than a website, or a migration with real history behind it. We scope it properly so the number is right before either of us commits.

What moves the price
  • How many pages, and how many of them are genuinely different rather than the same template with different words
  • How many systems it has to talk to: a CRM, a practice system, a payment provider, a booking tool
  • Whether anyone logs in. A client portal or an application is a different kind of project from a website
  • Whether the content exists. Structuring what you have is quick; writing it from nothing is not
  • How many URLs are migrating, because a redirect map for 40 pages and one for 4,000 are different jobs
  • How fast you need it. Compressing a schedule costs money in every industry and we will not pretend otherwise

Terms: 50% to start, 50% at launch. Fixed scope agreed in writing first, and everything listed is in the base price. Every build and every AI product includes the first three months of Essential care, so hosting, monitoring, security and backups are handled from day one. After that it continues at $290/mo, or you take the code and your accounts and go, and we will help you move it.

AI Receptionist

Stop losing the calls you never hear to whoever picks up first.

$2,500 to $14,000

plus from $250/mo

two to six weeks

  • A voice agent on a new number or forwarded from your existing one, answering in about one ring
  • Trained on your services, your prices, your hours and the twenty questions you are actually asked, so a caller gets an answer instead of a promise that someone will ring back
  • Works as an AI appointment setter: checks real availability, books the slot, and sends the confirmation itself
  • Takes a proper message when it cannot help, with the caller’s details captured correctly the first time
  • Hands over to a human on request, on anything sensitive, and on anything it is not confident about
  • Every call transcribed and summarised into your inbox or your CRM within a minute, so the follow-up happens off a record rather than off memory
  • Out-of-hours and overflow modes: it picks up evenings, weekends and the calls that arrive while your line is already engaged, which is where most missed enquiries actually come from
  • A genuine replacement for an AI answering service or a traditional one: it completes the booking rather than taking a name and promising a callback

Three sizes

  • Smallmost firms

    $2,500 to $6,000

    usually two to three weeks

One number, one team, straightforward booking. It answers, it knows your services and your hours, and it fills your calendar. For a lot of firms this is the whole job.

  • Medium

    $6,000 to $14,000

    usually four to six weeks

Several services or locations, calls routed to the right person, and more of a conversation before it books. For firms where who picks up matters as much as whether anyone does.

  • Large

    from $14,000

quoted after a paid scoping week

Wired deep into a practice system, escalation rules that have to be provably followed, or call volume high enough to change the design. Scoped properly first.

What moves the price
  • How many services and locations it has to know about, and how differently each one is handled
  • How many people or departments a call can be routed to, and the rules for choosing
  • What it has to write into: a calendar alone is quick, a practice management system is not
  • How much qualifying happens before it books, because every extra question is a branch to design and test
  • Whether your sector has escalation rules that must be provably followed
  • Call volume, which changes the running cost rather than the build, and we estimate it either way

Terms: setup 50% to start, 50% when it goes live, then the monthly fee. 🔴 Call minutes and model usage are billed at cost on top and estimated to the dollar before you commit, because a voice agent has a genuine per-minute cost and hiding it until the invoice is the most common complaint about this market. The first three months of Essential care are included.

AI Assistant

Reply first, win more. Every enquiry answered in minutes, at any hour.

$2,000 to $11,000

plus from $180/mo

two to five weeks

  • A site assistant that answers from YOUR material (your pages, your prices, your documents) and says so when it does not know
  • Qualification: it asks the two or three things you need to know before a conversation is worth your time
  • Booking straight into your calendar, or a clean handover to you with everything already captured
  • An inbox agent that replies to new enquiries within minutes, at any hour, and follows up on a schedule you set
  • Polite, finite chasing: it stops when someone replies, asks it to stop, or the sequence ends. It never nags
  • Everything logged where you already work: email, a spreadsheet, or whichever CRM for small business you settled on years ago
  • A weekly digest: what it answered, what it booked, and what it could not handle. The last column is the useful one, because it tells you what your buyers keep asking that your site does not answer
  • A real chatbot for website visitors rather than a canned FAQ widget: it qualifies, books and acts instead of only replying
  • Guardrails, testing and a written record of what it may and may not say. The cost of an AI that invents a price or a turnaround time lands on you, so we bound it before it ships

Three sizes

  • Small

    $2,000 to $4,800

    usually two weeks

The inbox half on its own. Every enquiry answered within minutes at any hour, then followed up until someone replies. For a lot of firms this alone pays for the whole project.

  • Mediummost firms

    $4,800 to $11,000

    usually three to five weeks

Both halves. An assistant on your site answering from your own material and qualifying visitors, with the inbox agent working behind it. Nothing reaches you unqualified and nothing sits unanswered.

  • Large

    from $11,000

    quoted after scoping

Answering from a large or messy document set, writing into several systems at once, or agents that take actions rather than only replying. More guardrails, more testing.

What moves the price
  • How much material it has to answer from, and what state it is in. Twelve tidy pages is a different job from four hundred PDFs
  • How many systems it writes into: an inbox alone is quick, an inbox plus a CRM plus a calendar is not
  • How much qualifying you want before a conversation reaches you
  • Whether it only replies or actually does things, because an agent that takes actions needs guardrails a chatbot does not
  • How many languages, if more than one

Terms: setup 50% to start, 50% when it goes live, then the monthly fee. Model usage is billed at cost on top and estimated up front, typically a few dollars a month at small-firm volumes. The first three months of Essential care are included.

Workflow Automation

Get your most expensive people off the cheapest work in your business.

$2,400 to $13,000

per workflow

  • A written map of the workflow as it runs today, costed in hours a month at your real rates. Firms are routinely surprised by that number, and it is the number the whole decision turns on
  • The automation itself, on infrastructure we host and monitor, connected to the systems you already use
  • AI only where it earns its place: reading documents, drafting, classifying, summarising. Ordinary code everywhere else, because a rule that always works beats a model that usually does
  • A human checkpoint wherever a mistake would be expensive, with the reasoning shown so approving takes seconds
  • Failure handling: what happens when the other system is down, when the input is malformed, and who gets told
  • Handover: a recorded walkthrough, the runbook, and 30 days of adjustment included, so it survives the person who commissioned it going on holiday

Three sizes

  • Small

    $2,400 to $5,500

    usually two to three weeks

One clean process with clear rules. Invoice chasing, an onboarding sequence, a report that builds and sends itself. The kind of job everyone agrees should not still be manual.

  • Mediummost firms

    $5,500 to $13,000

    usually four to six weeks

A process that spans several systems, reads real documents, and needs a person to approve the part where being wrong is expensive. Exceptions handled properly rather than ignored.

  • Large

    from $13,000

quoted after a paid scoping week

Several linked workflows, a trail that has to stand up to an audit, or a legacy system with nothing resembling an API. Scoped properly, because guessing at these is how they go wrong.

What moves the price
  • How many systems the process touches, which is almost always the biggest single factor
  • Whether those systems have decent APIs. A modern one is hours, a legacy one with no API can be weeks
  • How much of the input is unstructured, because reading a PDF reliably is harder than reading a form
  • How many exceptions are real. Every "except when…" your team mentions is a branch to build and test
  • Whether a person has to approve something, and what has to be shown to them to make that quick
  • Whether the trail has to stand up to an audit, which is a different standard of work

Terms: 50% to start, 50% on handover. One workflow, fixed scope agreed in writing first. Running costs (model calls, third-party API tiers) are yours and are estimated up front to the dollar. A second workflow is usually cheaper, because the plumbing already exists.

AI Visibility

Be the firm the assistant names, and get the enquiry it would have sent elsewhere.

$1,800 to $9,500

one-off, then monthly

  • Crawler access fixed first: a surprising number of firms block GPTBot and friends by accident and have no idea
  • The machine-readability layer: structured data, llms.txt, clean server-rendered HTML, dynamic sitemap, instant indexation. None of it is visible to a human, and all of it decides whether a machine can quote you
  • Answer-first restructuring of the pages that matter, so an assistant can lift a clean answer and attribute it to you
  • The citation assets worth quoting: the data, the table or the tool in your category that nobody else has published
  • Monthly citation checks: the questions your buyers actually ask, run through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google, recorded and dated. You see who is being named instead of you, by name
  • Proof in your own server logs: which AI crawlers read which pages, how often, and what changed

Three sizes

  • Smallmost firms

    $1,800 to $4,200

    usually two to three weeks

The foundation, and it is the half that decides whether anything else matters. Crawler access unblocked, structured data, llms.txt, indexation, and the pages that earn you money rewritten so a machine can lift a clean answer from them.

  • Medium

    $4,200 to $9,500

    usually four to six weeks

The foundation plus the thing worth quoting: the dataset, comparison or tool in your category that nobody has published. That is what earns links from sources the models already trust, and it is what turns you into the answer rather than a candidate.

  • Large

    from $9,500

quoted after a paid scoping week

A large or multi-location estate, several practice areas each needing its own answer, or a migration where the existing search equity is worth real money. Scoped properly first, because guessing at these is how a firm loses rankings it already had.

What moves the price
  • What state the site is in. A modern server-rendered site is quick; one that assembles itself in the browser may need the build instead
  • How many pages genuinely matter, because restructuring twelve money pages is the work and the other two hundred usually are not
  • Whether a citation asset already exists or has to be created from raw data
  • How competitive your category already is in AI answers, which we can tell you for free before you commit

A one-off foundation on an existing site, or the ongoing half of a Growth care plan. It is built into every site we make, so if you are buying a build you are not paying for this twice.

MONTHLY

Care plans

Nothing we build earns anything while it is broken. We host it, watch it, fix it and keep improving it. One bill, and the risk is ours.

A website care plan here means the whole system is our problem rather than yours. Managed hosting, uptime, security, backups, website maintenance, the automations we built and the AI products we set up all sit on our side of the line, and you get one bill instead of six. The commercial point is simple: an AI receptionist that stops answering, or a site that is down on a Monday morning, costs you enquiries for as long as nobody notices. We notice.

Essential

$290/mo

monthly · cancel anytime

Keeps the thing earning. A site that is down or broken takes enquiries with it.

  • Managed hosting on our infrastructure with SSL and CDN, so the site stays fast enough to keep converting the traffic you pay for
  • Uptime monitoring, so we find out before your clients do
  • Security patching and dependency updates, which is the unglamorous work that stops a site becoming an incident with your clients’ data in it
  • Daily backups and tested restores, so the worst day costs you hours rather than the site
  • Small content and copy changes, up to an hour a month: a price change, a new team member, a service you have stopped offering. The things that quietly go stale and cost you enquiries
  • A quarterly note on what changed and what needs attention, in plain English, so you can decide rather than being told

Response
Next business day for anything broken, same day for anything down.

Most firms

Growth

$1,400/mo

monthly · cancel anytime

For firms who want the number going up, not just the lights staying on.

  • Everything in Essential
  • Your AI receptionist and assistants watched, tuned and kept current as the models change
  • A monthly block of build or automation work, used however you like
  • Rankings, citation checks and crawler activity reported monthly, so "are we being found" is a number you can act on rather than a feeling
  • A monthly call to decide what the block gets spent on
  • Priority in the queue over project work

Response
Same business day for anything broken, within the hour for anything down.

Partner

$3,800/mo

monthly · three-month minimum

Cheaper than the technical lead you would otherwise hire, and available sooner.

  • Everything in Growth, with a much larger monthly block
  • Roadmap ownership: we decide what to build next, with you, and we are accountable for it
  • Your other vendors and systems managed on your behalf
  • Direct access, no queue, no ticket system
  • Quarterly planning against your actual business goals rather than a task list

Response
Within the hour during working hours, and we agree your working hours, not ours.

The first three months are included

Every build and every AI product includes the first three months of Essential care, so hosting, monitoring, security and backups are handled from day one. After that it continues at $290/mo, or you take the code and your accounts and go, and we will help you move it.

What a care plan is not

What it does not mean is a 24-hour helpdesk, because we are a small studio and pretending otherwise would be the fastest way to lose your trust. The response windows above are what one experienced engineer can genuinely hold, and they are written to be under-promised. If your firm needs someone on call at three in the morning, we will tell you that on the first call and point you at someone who does it properly.

Optional

The Roadmap

For a firm that wants the plan without the build.

$750

credited against any project

  • Your money questions run through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google, with who gets named instead of you
  • A crawler and technical review of your site, fetched as the bots rather than guessed at
  • A walk-through of your three highest-friction workflows with an hours-per-month cost on each
  • A ranked roadmap you own and can hand to any team, including ours

The $750 comes off your first invoice if you book any project within 90 days, so it costs nothing to start here. Most firms do not need it, and the free call answers the same question in twenty minutes. It exists for the ones who want the whole picture written down.

Who this fits

Small firms and professional practices of roughly two to fifty people: accountants and law firms first, then the categories that behave like them, including clinics, insurance, property, financial advice, agencies and licensing-heavy trades. The pattern we are best at is a firm with real expertise, a lot of repeatable process, and a website that does neither of those things justice. Large catalogue e-commerce is not a fit, and we will tell you so on the call rather than after the invoice.

We are a small studio running from Chiang Mai rather than a London or New York office, so our overheads are a fraction of a comparable agency’s. We pass that on. It is the reason the numbers above are lower, not a sign that the work is.

Boutique agencies charge $5,000 to $25,000 for a custom site, the majority of B2B redesigns land between $32,000 and $48,000, and AI automation projects run $5,000 to $50,000. We come in under all of it, on purpose, and there are two honest reasons rather than one flattering one. Our overheads are a fraction of a city agency’s because the studio runs from Chiang Mai. And we have no client case studies yet, so we are not charging for the certainty a portfolio buys. Better than a freelancer, cheaper than an agency, and we would rather say exactly that than let you wonder where the catch is.
